You might know this delicious fruit by its other name, cantaloupe, but whatever you call it just know that’s it is doing you world of benefits! Beta-carotene, found in other orange fruits such as carrots and pumpkins, can actually prevent you from developing asthma! This nutrient even helps reduce the risks of cancer, more specifically prostate cancer (Ware, 2017). Metabolic syndrome, which relates to a group of health problems such as high blood sugars, high blood fats, and just too much body fat in general, can greatly be reduced by consuming rockmelon. This is due to the awesome power of the anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
Rockmelon, like most fruits, is high in fibre. Its also got great moisture levels, so it’s a perfect contributor to a healthy digestive system and will help to prevent constipation. This combined with the high electrolyte content means you’ll be feeling well hydrated, especially during warmer months which is when rock melon is the best! The combination of vitamin C and vitamin A will ensure you maintain healthy skin and hair, some people even put rock melon in their hair as a conditioner! (ROTA, 2017)
